A good amount of historical research and planning went into the creation of this story. I read about Greek history and the different eras of Greek and Hellenic history. I also made sure to do reading on the histories of other cultures around the same time period (as well as before and afterwards) so I could be aware of what existed at certain times, and where. | Hello my dears. I am Spleef/Spleefmistress, though now I prefer the nom de plume of CultOfStrawberry (but cannot change my DA name unless I create an new acct, which I really don't want to do) I enjoy reading, drawing, writing, swimming, cooking, hikes, and walks on the beach. (ahh, Nature...) I will read nearly anything (as long as it's a decent read) and my favorite magazine is Reader's Digest. Currently I am writing several novels for publication - two science fiction, one Greek mythology (Darkness Becomes Her), a vampire story, and a story based off a folk tale. I do hope to be on the New York Time bestseller list one day :3 I have NEVER been one to suffer fools - whether it be foolish ex-boyfriends or religious nutjobs or stupid ghetto black people or white trash - and have a very low patience threshold, so when I see fundamentalists insist that there is something wrong with being gay, or that the Bible is the only truth in life and all are going to hell, I tend to get confrontational and in their faces. I absolutely hate it when people say that their own religion is better than others and that everyone else is wrong and forever hopelessly condemned to eternity in the firepit. I'm an atheist, so at least I'm not burdened by a set of illogical, whacked-out beliefs. I also adore cats. Cats are the most splendid creatures on earth with the prettiest little paws anybody could ever ask to see. <3 I used to do a lot more art, since when I was little I drew a lot in class because I got bored a lot (the teacher was repeating crap I already knew) and everyone was like, wow! you have nice art!, and my parents sent me off to school for art. Yeah, my art is 'nice', but as I started writing I realized that I enjoy writing more and that I can create a better image with my words than with my pictures... Weird, right? I graduated from college with an art major - and I did learn quite a few things that have benefitted me - but I also took minors in English (for writing) and History.
