I know that what I am about to say may offend some of you, but this is why abortion needs to be legal, and why religious people should not be in office.

This poor child was born without bones in her face. She is unable to speak, breathe, or eat. She requires a trach tube and a stomach tube.

Over 3 million years of taxpayer's money (because the dad is in the Navy and his insurance is funded by the gov't) have been spent on operations for this girl - yet she still cannot lead a normal life.

I have nothing against this poor girl. Her suffering is none of her own fault. I am not making fun of her appearance, or calling her stupid. She was infact born with a functioning brain and is not at all retarded.

My beef is with her parents. They knew something was wrong beforehand when the ultrasound told them, yet they chose to continue. When she was born, there was no doubt that something was severely wrong. She could not even breastfeed. Rather than let her escape her suffering, they force life on her. She is alive only thanks to modern medicine. 100 years ago, even just 50 years ago, she would have DIED not long after birth.

This is a little girl who will never be able to live a normal life. her intelligent, fully-functional brain is aware of every second of her miserable existence. She doesn't even get to be retarded, and thus, be happy despite her suffering. Can you imagine living like this poor girl does, and being fully aware of your problems?

On top of that, her attention whore parents have set up the site that I linked you to. What the fuck were they thinking when they came up with that? 'Let's post pics of our horrendously deformed child on the Internet!' And then they call her 'God's gift'

Do you think that little girl feels like a gift? Telling her that she is a gift from God so many times will fuck her up, seriously. I'm a atheist, but I say this. If there really was a loving and merciful God, do you think that he would have created her like this, just to make her suffer? Or, if there is a God, then he is a sadist who made her that way as a cruel joke.

This girl is being made to suffer because of her parent's religious beliefs. The dairy entries from Mommy and Nurse, and the pictures with the subtitles under them just add a whole new level of cruel irony to the site.

This girl's chances of finding love and a family of her own are very slim indeed. And imagine trying to find a job.

These stupid fundies (all of them, not just the Wetmores) need to concentrate on the QUALITY of life, rather than just life itself. I'd rather life 10 years of a healthy, full life than 50 with constant health problems, being bedridden, and the like. Sometimes, being truly kind to someone is letting them end their suffering, not prolonging it.
